Using an Islamic leadership approach based on the principles of ihsan, this study investigates the function of spiritual leadership in encouraging moral and sustainable development among headmasters. Semi-structured interview with ten headmasters from various school backgrounds around Negeri Sembilan were held using a qualitative study design. The results highlight the value of spiritual leadership in tackling the particular difficulties headmasters encounter when running elementary schools. The report also emphasizes the critical necessity for comprehensive leadership development programs that prioritize ihsan-based principles, including honesty, integrity, fairness, sincerity, and truthfulness, as well as the maintenance of appropriate behavior and polite communication. It has been demonstrated that including spiritual and ethical training in headmasters' leadership development is successful in building inner resilience and ideals consistent with Islamic teachings, even in the face of resource and cultural obstacles. By offering contextually relevant viewpoints and empirical evidence on integrating Islamic values into school leadership, this study adds to the larger conversation on spiritual leadership. This strategy supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and provides a workable substitute leadership paradigm for developing morally sound and completely responsible school administrators.
