Abstract

Renewable energy education requires contextual and future‑ready learning approaches to address global energy challenges and climate change. This study aims to develop a locally wisdom‑based solar oven e‑module and examine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in enhancing students’ critical and creative thinking skills. A Research and Development method using the ADDIE model was employed, involving analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The participants were Phase‑E senior high school students in Brebes, Indonesia. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and pre‑test and post‑test instruments measuring critical and creative thinking skills. The results indicate that the developed e‑module is highly valid and practical. Furthermore, the implementation of the e‑module significantly improved students’ critical and creative thinking skills through Project‑Based Learning activities integrated with local culinary wisdom. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of renewable energy concepts, digital learning modules, and local cultural contexts to support future‑ready and sustainable education.
