Beyond the Board: CYBERPOLY as a Multidimensional Gamified Learning Tool for Cybersecurity Awareness

Abstract

The increasing frequency and complexity of cyberattacks underscore the urgent need for effective cybersecurity education. Traditional awareness programs often lack engagement and contextual relevance, especially among youth. This paper presents CYBERPOLY, an innovative mobile edugame that employs multidimensional gamification techniques to elevate cybersecurity awareness. It was developed based on DevOps methodology and designed with integrated Naqli and Aqli values, which focus on cyber ethics. CYBERPOLY leverages interactive quizzes, a simulated board game, and role-based Islamic ethical learning to foster digital resilience. The study discusses design rationale, educational framework, usability assessment, and its societal impact. Preliminary findings indicate a 96.8% positive response rate among users, validating CYBERPOLY's practicality and engagement. The paper also outlines opportunities for wider application in educational institutions and national cybersecurity campaigns.
