Fencing is a competitive combat sport featuring stringent demands for athletes’ instantaneous speed, explosive power, bodily coordination and tactical decision-making. Modern high-level fencing tournaments set increasingly rigorous standards for athletes’ overall physical conditioning, specialized strength capacity and fundamental technical proficiency. In current competitive environments, training regimens that solely focus on technical drills can hardly help athletes break through performance bottlenecks, which severely restricts further elevation of their competitive capabilities. Against this backdrop, the effective integration of targeted strength training and foundational technical practice has emerged as a decisive determinant of fencers’ competitive performance. This paper therefore takes this core issue as its research starting point. It systematically explores scientific, rational and operable integration modes linking specialized strength training with basic technical training for fencers. By analyzing the interactive mechanism between physical strength and fencing techniques, this study intends to construct a compound training framework. The ultimate research objective is to offer practical training references, boost fencers’ on-site competitive stability, and comprehensively lift their overall competitive standard in formal fencing matches.
